For half a century this world-famous international ski marathon has brought cross-country skiers from all over the world along the track that climbs from Moena to Canazei in Val di Fassa, where it turns back towards the now historic Viale Mendini in Cavalese. The tracks run for 70 km through white meadows and woods, wind alongside sparkling streams and cut across the roads in the villages, getting the better of normal traffic for a day. Those who choose the light course face “only” 45 kilometres, with the finish line in Predazzo amid the cheers of a packed square. An international event Marcialonga involves many locals, Italians and Scandinavians, but not only. Every year entries arrive from every part of the world, creating truly international moments of sport and friendship!
