What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser to remember information from one page to the next or from one visit to the next. Similar tools, such as the browser’s localStorage and sessionStorage, work in the same way, and on this page we treat them together with cookies.
In short
- Without your consent we only use technical cookies that the website needs to work.
- Statistics (Google Analytics), advertising tools (Google Ads, including remarketing) and the Google Maps map are only enabled if you consent, category by category.
- These services are loaded with Google Tag Manager, which only starts after your consent: until you consent, no Google script is loaded.
- The website’s fonts and icons are hosted on our own server: visiting our pages does not send data to Google Fonts or other external services.

If you reject or withdraw your consent, our own website’s cookies are deleted; Google’s cookies can be deleted in your browser settings and in any case stop being used. Even without consent, if you arrive from a campaign its parameters stay in the page address during your visit, without saving anything in your browser, and are attached to any enquiry you send: details are in the Privacy Policy.
Google Tag Manager
Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) is the tool we use to load Google Analytics and Google Ads. It is only loaded after you consent to the Statistics or Marketing categories and does not set cookies itself; it receives the IP address needed to download the code. With Google Consent Mode each service respects the categories you chose. To turn off Google’s personalised adverts on all websites you can also use Google’s ad settings.
How to manage your choices
On your first visit a banner lets you accept all cookies, reject them or choose by category. Closing the banner with the X lets you continue with technical cookies only. Your choices last 6 months; you can change them at any time from the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page or with the button above.
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. Blocking technical cookies may stop some parts of the website from working properly.
External websites
The “Book” button opens the Scidoo booking system, and some links lead to our social media profiles or to tourism websites. These websites use their own cookies, described in their own policies.
Consent records
To be able to prove the choices made, we record a random browser identifier, the date, the categories accepted, the version of this policy, the language, the page and the truncated IP address (with its last part removed). These records are deleted after 12 months.
