BELLAMONTE

BELLAMONTE
Bellamonte, a hamlet of Predazzo, was once considered the “hay mountain” of Val di Fiemme. Today it is a sought-after tourist destination, both for its characteristic mountain huts at the foot of the Lagorai range and for its stunning sunsets over the Pale di San Martino. In Bellamonte, a visit to the incredible collection of farming tools and antique objects kept in an old barn, the Nonno Gustavo Museum, is a must. The Bellamonte-Alpe Lusia ski lifts skirt the borders of the Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino Nature Park, famous for its forests of spruce, known as “resonance spruce” because it is used to make the soundboards of musical instruments. In the nearby hamlet of Paneveggio you can see the Park's Visitor Centre, the deer of the reserve, the botanical trail, a transparent bridge and a rope suspension bridge. Among the Park's many itineraries, those closest to Predazzo lead to Forte Dossaccio and to Colbricon, famous for its small lakes perfectly set among crowns of rhododendrons.
